Labor & Delivery Travel Registered Nurse (RN) – 13-Week Contract in Olney, Maryland

Travel Nursing Job Details
- Location: Olney, Maryland
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,830–$1,930
- Schedule: 3 shifts per week
- Shift Duration: 12-hour day shifts, 7:00 a.m.–7:30 p.m.
- Hours: 36 hours per week
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks
- Start Date: October 26, 2026; an earlier start may be considered
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- Holiday Requirement: Every other holiday
- Call Requirement: 8 hours during each 6-week scheduling period
- Orientation: 36 hours; orientation begins on a Monday
- Care Setting: Labor and Delivery, postpartum, obstetrical triage, inductions, nonstress tests (NSTs), and cesarean deliveries
- Patient Population: Neonates, adolescents, and adults
Labor & Delivery Travel Nurse Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Maryland or a valid compact-state license
- At least 3 years of recent Labor & Delivery, obstetric, or women’s health nursing experience
- At least 1 completed travel nursing assignment
- Current C-EFM certification through NCC required at submission
- Current BLS and NRP certifications required at submission
- Recent experience supporting labor, delivery, postpartum, and high-risk obstetrical patients
- Ability to provide two supervisory references, including one from the most recent assignment
- Required seasonal influenza vaccination
- Strong patient assessment, prioritization, communication, and clinical judgment skills
- Ability to complete required health screening, documentation, and learning modules within designated timelines
Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients during labor, delivery, recovery, and the postpartum period.
- Monitor maternal and fetal status and recognize and respond to abnormal fetal heart rate patterns.
- Assist with vaginal deliveries, cesarean sections, high-risk deliveries, inductions, and obstetrical triage.
- Circulate for cesarean sections and recover patients following delivery and anesthesia.
- Perform or assist with sterile vaginal and speculum examinations, fetal monitoring, amnioinfusion, and related obstetrical procedures.
- Administer medications, IV therapies, blood and blood products, epidural-related care, and pain management interventions.
- Assess and manage postpartum recovery, including fundus, lochia, perineum, reflexes, edema, and potential hemorrhage.
- Identify and promptly escalate complications such as postpartum hemorrhage, pregnancy-induced hypertension, and maternal or fetal distress.
- Provide patient and family education using Baby-Friendly practices and support a positive birth experience.
- Accept postpartum assignments when needed to support continuity of care and unit needs.
- Collaborate with providers and interdisciplinary teams to promote safe, efficient, and high-quality patient care.
