Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a high-risk Labor & Delivery unit requiring KS or Compact RN licensure and NRP/FHM certification.

Details

• High-risk Labor & Delivery unit including OB Triage, Postpartum, and Level 2 Special Care Nursery
• Care of laboring patients with high-risk conditions such as pre-eclampsia and diabetes for gestations 34 weeks 0 days and greater
• Involves C-Sections and External Cephalic Versions
• Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 06:00 to 18:00
• 36 or 48 hour scheduling options available
• Floating to like units within scope required as needed based on facility needs

Requirements

• Active KS or Compact RN license required at time of consideration
• BLS, FHM, and NRP certifications required
• AWHONN Intermediate certification required; AWHONN Advanced preferred
• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience preferred
• Epic charting experience preferred
• Skilled in labor and delivery management, IV therapy, and administration of blood and blood products
• Experience assisting with high-risk deliveries, vaginal deliveries, and C-section circulation required

Additional Information

• Unit accepts first-time travelers
• Care includes antepartum, high-risk antepartum, and mother/baby services
• Responsibilities include fetal monitoring, neonatal care in the delivery room, and postpartum care
• Experience with conditions such as pre-eclampsia, VBAC management, placenta previa, and preterm labor expected
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius, as local candidates are not accepted
• Former permanent staff must have separated from employment for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
• No more than 3 days of RTO will be auto-approved, and no RTO is permitted during the first week of orientation
• Travel pairs or groups are not accepted
