Travel Nursing Job Details

- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,890–$1,990
- Schedule: Three 12-hour night shifts per week
- Shift: 7:00 p.m. – 7:00 a.m.
- Hours: 36 hours per week
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- Patient Ratio: Approximately 1:2 on nights and weekends
- Patient Population: Neonates, infants, pediatrics, adolescents, and adults
- Unit Highlights: Seven-room, seven-bed unit with an average daily census of approximately four patients
- Floating: May be required to Antepartum, NICU, Postpartum, and Nursery areas
- Charting: Epic
Labor & Delivery RN Job Requirements
- At least 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery or LDRP nursing experience, including postpartum and nursery care
- Active compact or Tennessee Registered Nurse license at the time of submission
- Current BLS, ACLS, AWHONN, and NRP certifications
- Recent Epic experience within the past 12–18 months, clearly documented in the professional profile
- Competency in electronic fetal monitoring and obstetric patient care
- Ability to care for high-risk obstetric patients and newborns in a fast-paced clinical environment
- Previous charge nurse experience is preferred
- Strong communication, clinical judgment, organization, and teamwork skills
- Willingness to float to related maternal-child health units as needed
Labor & Delivery RN Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care throughout labor, delivery, recovery, postpartum, and newborn transitions
- Monitor maternal and fetal status using external and internal fetal monitoring, NSTs, and related assessments
- Assist with vaginal deliveries, cesarean sections, high-risk deliveries, forceps or vacuum-assisted deliveries, and newborn stabilization
- Manage inductions and obstetric therapies, including Pitocin, magnesium sulfate, terbutaline, prostaglandins, and epidural anesthesia
- Recognize and respond to abnormal fetal heart rate patterns, postpartum hemorrhage, pregnancy-induced hypertension, seizures, and other obstetric emergencies
- Perform newborn assessments, APGAR scoring, thermoregulation, glucose monitoring, metabolic screening, phototherapy support, and neonatal abstinence assessments
- Provide couplet care, breastfeeding and lactation support, discharge education, car seat education, and newborn care teaching
- Administer medications, manage IV therapies and infusion pumps, and maintain Foley catheters and other clinical equipment
- Document patient care accurately in Epic and collaborate with respiratory services, pharmacy, radiology, phlebotomy, and interpretation services
- Promote a safe, respectful, family-centered care environment for patients and newborns
