Description

American Traveler is hiring a Labor & Delivery RN for a 13-week night shift assignment requiring at least 2 years of L&D experience and NC or compact RN licensure.

Details

• 18-bed Labor and Delivery unit
• High-acuity laboring patient population
• Night shift, 3x12 hours, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Every other weekend required
• Holidays scheduled as needed
• Float required to MAU, MBU, and OBSC, and potentially any Cone Health campus
• Uses Epic EMR
• Uses Triton and SurgiCount systems

Requirements

• Active NC or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications required
• AWHONN Intermediate certification preferred
• Epic EMR experience required
• Skilled in labor and delivery management including vaginal and C-section delivery assistance, fetal monitoring, and high-risk delivery support
• Experience with medication administration including Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, and Terbutaline
• Experience caring for patients with conditions such as pre-eclampsia, placenta previa, HELLP syndrome, and VBAC management
• Must pass a compliance EKG exam (two attempts allowed)

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive labor and delivery nursing care including antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum management
• Perform neonatal care in the delivery room including APGAR scoring and neonatal resuscitation
• Assist with surgical procedures such as cervical cerclage, D&C, and tubal ligation
• Support pain management including epidural anesthesia and nitrous oxide administration
• Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility, as local candidates are not accepted
