Description

American Traveler is seeking a Labor & Delivery RN for a fast-paced unit caring for high-acuity laboring patients, requiring Epic experience and NC/compact RN licensure.

Details

• 18-bed Labor & Delivery unit
• Cares for high-acuity laboring patients
• 3x12 Day shift schedule, 7:00am-7:30pm
• Every other weekend required
• Holiday scheduling as needed
• Floating required to MAU, MBU, and OBSC, and potentially any Cone Health campus
• Uses Epic EMR
• Utilizes Triton and SurgiCount systems

Requirements

• Active NC or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications required
• AWHONN Intermediate certification preferred
• Minimum 1-2 years of RN experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Skilled in fetal monitoring, including external and internal fetal monitoring and IUPC placement
• Experience with labor and delivery management including vaginal deliveries, C-section circulation/recovery, and high-risk delivery assistance
• Experience administering medications such as Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, and Prostaglandins
• Skilled in neonatal care in the delivery room including APGAR scoring and neonatal resuscitation
• Experience caring for patients with conditions such as pre-eclampsia, placenta previa, HELLP syndrome, and VBAC management
• Current driver's license required to verify address

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive labor and delivery nursing care including antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum management
• Support high-risk obstetric cases including multiple gestation and malpresentation deliveries
• Assist with surgical procedures such as cervical cerclage, D&C, and tubal ligation
• All RNs must pass a compliance EKG exam during onboarding, with up to two attempts allowed
• Non-billable orientation modules average 2-4 hours and vary by unit
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility; no local candidates accepted
• RTO must be submitted with the initial application; no post-submission time off requests accepted
