Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring C-EFM certification and local candidacy within 60 miles of the facility.

Details

• Work in the Labor & Delivery unit of a hospital setting
• Patient ratio of 1:2
• Day shift schedule (3x12 hours, 6:50 AM-7:20 PM)
• Every other weekend required
• Call required for 2 shifts per 6-week schedule
• Floating required to Mother/Baby and scrub duties (scrub preferred)
• Cerner charting system used

Requirements

• Active RN license, either MD state license or compact license required
• Current certifications: C-EFM (NCC), BLS, NRP, and STABLE required; ACLS preferred
• 3 years of Labor & Delivery experience preferred, though 2 years with strong experience may be considered
• 2 years of recent experience within the last 7 years required
• Charge experience preferred
• Cerner charting experience preferred
• Teaching hospital, community hospital, and Trauma Level I experience preferred
• Scrub experience for C-section preferred
• Skilled in labor and delivery management, high-risk delivery assistance, and fetal monitoring
• Must have completed at least one prior travel assignment
• Two supervisory references required, including one from the most recent assignment
• Must support at least 2 years of experience within the previous 3 years

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive labor and delivery nursing care including antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum management
• Perform skills such as amnioinfusion, vaginal delivery assistance, C-section circulation and recovery, and sterile vaginal exams
• Administer medications including Pitocin, magnesium sulfate, and antihypertensives as needed
• Support neonatal care in the delivery room including APGAR scoring and thermoregulation
• Must reside within 60 miles of the facility to be considered a local candidate
• No RTO permitted during the first two weeks of the assignment
• Maximum RTO of 7 days per 13-week contract, submitted at time of application
• Nurses with previous employment at this health system must have been separated for at least one year before returning as a travel nurse
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
