Description

American Traveler is hiring a Labor & Delivery RN for a night shift community hospital role requiring 2+ years L&D and postpartum experience with travel experience required.

Details

  • Community hospital setting within the Labor and Delivery unit
  • Assignment mix of approximately 80% L&D and 20% Mother/Baby/Postpartum
  • Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts, 19:00-07:00
  • Patient ratio of 1:2
  • Weekend rotation coverage required, to be discussed during interview
  • Flexibility for floating within the hospital as needed
  • Uses Paragon charting system, with future transition to Epic planned

Requirements

  • Active LA state or compact RN license required at time of consideration
  • Minimum 2 years of L&D experience with postpartum experience required
  • Travel experience required
  • Required certifications: BLS, NRP, AWHONN Beginner or Intermediate
  • Preferred certifications: ACLS, AWHONN Advanced, FHM
  • Community hospital experience required
  • Charting system experience required (any system accepted)
  • One professional reference required
  • Disclosure of any license disciplinary actions required at time of consideration

Additional Information

  • Provide nursing care across labor, delivery, and postpartum/mother-baby units
  • Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates are not accepted
  • Minimal RTO requests preferred, including around holidays
  • Former employees must be separated from the facility for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
  • Orientation includes a virtual first day followed by two on-site days with additional EMR training
  • Candidates with recent professional cancellations will be reviewed prior to approval
