Description

American Traveler is hiring a Labor & Delivery RN for a night shift Birth Center role requiring 2+ years of birthing center experience and an active MI license.

Details

• Work in a Birth Center with 11 LDRP rooms, 3 triage rooms, and 1 OR
• Delivers over 800 babies annually
• Care for laboring, delivery, and postpartum patients including newborns and mothers
• Patient ratios: 1:1 for active labor, magnesium sulfate, and Pitocin induction; 1:3 for couplets; 1:2 for early labor patients
• Night shift, 12-hour shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• 13-week assignment
• Rotating weekend and holiday coverage required with possible on-call
• Uses Cerner EMR

Requirements

• Active Michigan (MI) RN license required, must state Active on LARA
• Active AHA BLS certification required
• Current NRP certification required (candidates without active certification but willing to obtain may be considered)
• Minimum 2 years of current Birthing Center experience required
• Experience with laboring patients, delivery/newborn care, and postpartum care for both mothers and babies required
• Current skills checklist (within 1 year) pertinent to specialty required
• 2 supervisory reference forms completed within the last two years required

Additional Information

• Provide professional nursing care using critical thinking and independent judgment across all phases of the nursing process
• Direct and supervise the patient care team, including CNAs, LPNs, and other techs
• Collaborate with the care team and other disciplines to coordinate patient care
• Document patient condition, treatment response, and progress in a timely manner
• Must have a personal vehicle for this assignment
• Local candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility may be considered at a reduced rate
• Prior travel nursing experience preferred
• Maximum of 5 days RTO may be requested, and must be submitted prior to offer
