Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (RN)

General Information

We are seeking a highly skilled Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team. This position requires a minimum of 1 year of experience, specifically in Labor & Delivery or postpartum care. First-time travelers with the relevant L&D experience are welcome to apply.

• Beds: 8
• Patient Types: Labor & Delivery, postpartum, Antepartum, Newborns, and Infants under 28 days old
• Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP
• Education: Completion of a nursing education program approved by a board of nursing; Registered Nurse (RN) certification.
• Skills: EFM interpretation and intervention, adult and neonatal assessment skills.
• Orientation: Typically 1 week, based on experience.

Patient Care Responsibilities

• Patient Ratios:
  • Laboring: 1:2
  • Couplets: 1:3-4
• Provide care for patients in Labor & Delivery, Postpartum, and Level 2A Nursery.
• Support and collaborate with personnel on the unit, including the charge nurse and resource nurse.

Support on the Unit

• No dedicated CNAs specific to Labor & Delivery; however, support is available throughout the facility 24/7.
• One charge nurse covers all units.
• Lab services available 24/7.
• Resource nurse support provided by the primary nurse, manager, or charge nurse.
• Respiratory Therapy available as needed.

Scheduling and Time Off

• Weekend Rotation: Every other weekend required.
• Holiday Expectations: Three holidays during the year with one on-call holiday, following a rotating schedule.
• Time Off Requests: Two gold tickets per year; requests must be submitted before the next schedule is posted.
