Description

American Traveler is hiring a Labor & Delivery RN with 2+ years of experience and AWHONN Beginner certification for a 15-bed unit offering inpatient rooming.

Details

• 15-bed Labor and Delivery unit with inpatient rooming where infants stay with mothers
• Newborn nursery available for infants requiring specialized newborn care
• Patient population includes neonates and adults
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours from 19:00 to 07:00
• Every other weekend coverage required
• Uses Omnicell medication system
• SBAR communication protocol

Requirements

• Active MA RN license required in hand
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, NRP, and AWHONN Beginner
• AWHONN Advanced and AWHONN Intermediate certifications preferred
• Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience required
• Cerner charting experience preferred but not required
• Skills in labor and delivery management including fetal monitoring (external and internal), IUPC placement, vaginal delivery assistance, and postpartum care
• Experience with antepartum care, NST, and obstetrical triage

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive labor, delivery, and postpartum nursing care including fetal monitoring and newborn care
• Support couplet care with mother/baby rooming-in model
• Assist with vaginal deliveries, C-section recovery, and postpartum hemorrhage management
• Provide breastfeeding and lactation support along with discharge teaching to parents
• Charge nurse experience preferred but not required for this role
• First-time travelers will be considered for this position
• Previous staff must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
