Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Labor & Delivery RN with a minimum of 2 years current L&D experience and TN or compact RN licensure for a night shift assignment.

Details

• Labor and Delivery unit within a teaching hospital averaging 200-300 births per month
• Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 18:45-7:15)
• Nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:1-2 for laboring patients and 1:8 for postpartum/couplet care
• Weekend requirements of every other weekend or 2 weekends per month
• On-call requirement of 2 shifts per 6-week schedule period
• Floating required in accordance with unit floating policies and clinical experience
• Cerner charting experience preferred but not required

Requirements

• Active TN or compact RN license required, must be in hand at time of submittal
• Minimum 2 years current experience in Labor and Delivery required
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, AWHONN-Intermediate, and NRP
• NIHSS certification may be obtained after acceptance
• FHM certification preferred
• Certifications and licensure must not expire within 45 days of the start date
• Prior travel nurse experience required
• Experience with high risk antepartum care, fetal monitoring, and IUPC placement and calibration required
• Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, and central line maintenance (CVC/PICC) required
• Experience with medication administration including anticoagulation therapy, antihypertensives, insulin drips, and magnesium sulfate therapy required
• Experience assisting with high risk deliveries, circulating and recovering C-sections, and performing sterile vaginal exams required

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive labor and delivery nursing care including antepartum care, obstetrical triage, and high risk delivery support
• Follow isolation precautions and PPE protocols as required
• Complete required clinical modules during orientation and annually
• Holiday and holiday week RTO requests will not be accommodated for a wide range of specified holidays
• RTO requests may be addressed with the manager after arrival onsite using the RTO form
• Former permanent staff cannot return to the same campus within 24 months of separation, but may transfer to another Covenant Health campus after 12 months
• Related or married travel team members cannot be assigned to the same unit
• Local candidates within 75 miles of the facility may be considered at a reduced rate
• Candidates residing outside 75 miles of the facility are eligible for standard travel rate consideration
