Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Labor & Delivery RN with 2 years of L&D and post-partum experience for a night shift position requiring MN licensure.

Details

• Work in the Mother Baby Center of an acute care teaching hospital
• Rotate between labor and post-partum care
• Average daily census of 8 deliveries and 15 post-partum patients
• Night shift schedule of 3x12-hour shifts (1900-0730)
• Work every other weekend
• No on-call requirements
• Float within scope to meet facility needs, including to affiliate hospitals nearby
• Uses Epic (Excellian) for charting

Requirements

• Active MN RN license (or pending license accepted)
• Current BLS and NRP certifications required
• AWHONN Advanced, AWHONN Intermediate, and FHM certifications preferred
• Minimum 2 years of L&D experience with post-partum experience required
• Sterile vaginal exam experience required
• Experience with external and internal fetal monitoring required
• Experience with IUPC placement and calibration required
• Skilled in recognition and treatment of abnormal fetal heart rate patterns
• Experience administering Pitocin (oxytocin) required
• Experience managing and administering epidural anesthesia required
• Pain management and nitrous oxide skills preferred
• 1 supervisor reference required for consideration

Additional Information

• Level 2 Trauma Center with 258 staffed beds
• Provide labor and delivery and post-partum nursing care in a Mother Baby Center setting
• Scrubs provided by the unit
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Must reside at least 100 miles from the facility to be considered
• RTO ideally limited to no more than 5 days during the assignment
• Candidates who previously worked as perm staff or per diem must have been gone at least 3 months from their last shift to be eligible
• No parking fees at this facility
