Description

American Traveler is hiring a Labor & Delivery RN for a Mother Baby Center requiring 2 years of L&D and post-partum experience along with fetal monitoring skills.

Details

• Work in the Labor and Delivery unit of an acute care teaching hospital, Level 2 Trauma Center
• Position is within a Mother Baby Center where RNs work both in labor and post-partum
• Average daily census of 8 deliveries per day and 15 post-partum patients per day
• 3x12 Day shifts (0700-1930) or Night shifts (1900-0730) available
• Required to work every other weekend
• Floating required within the hospital or to nearby affiliate hospitals as needed
• No on-call requirements
• Uses Epic (Excellian) charting system

Requirements

• Active MN RN license required (pending license accepted)
• Current BLS and NRP certifications required
• AWHONN Advanced, AWHONN Intermediate, and FHM certifications preferred
• 2 years of Labor & Delivery experience with post-partum experience required
• Sterile vaginal exam experience required
• Fetal monitoring experience required, including use of external and internal fetal monitoring, IUPC placement and calibration, and recognition and treatment of abnormal fetal heart rate patterns
• Experience administering Pitocin (oxytocin) required
• Experience managing and administering epidural anesthesia required
• Pain management and nitrous oxide skills preferred
• 1 supervisor reference required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide nursing care across labor, delivery, and post-partum stages within a Mother Baby Center model
• Scrubs provided by the unit
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Candidates must not have worked as staff or per diem at the facility within the last 3 months to be eligible
• RTO should ideally be no more than 5 days
• Local candidates not accepted; must reside at least 100 miles from the facility
