Description

American Traveler is seeking a Labor and Delivery RN for a night shift position at a Critical Access Facility requiring MN licensure and at least 1 year of L&D experience.

Details

  • Labor and Delivery unit within a Critical Access Facility with Level 4 trauma designation
  • 19 staffed beds with fewer than 100 facility births per month
  • LDRP care model covering triage, antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, and newborn patients
  • Patient ratios: 1:3 during days, 1:2-3 during nights and weekends, with an average daily census of 1-2
  • Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
  • Weekend requirement of every other weekend, with consideration for every third weekend
  • No on-call responsibilities
  • May float outside the OB unit to support patient watch duties or assist with vitals, toileting, and repositioning on medical/surgical units, with no outside patient assignments
  • Uses Epic (Excellian) charting system
  • Scrubs provided
  • Free parking available

Requirements

  • Active MN RN license required; pending license accepted
  • Current certifications required: BLS and NRP
  • AWHONN Intermediate certification preferred
  • Minimum 1 year of Labor and Delivery experience required
  • Community hospital experience preferred
  • Charge nurse experience preferred
  • Required skills: fetal heart monitoring (FHM) and IV starts
  • Must be able to care for all aspects of labor and delivery including triage, antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, and newborn care
  • Epic/Excellian charting experience required
  • Candidates must reside at least 100 miles from the facility
  • Minimum of one supervisor reference required

Additional Information

  • Provide comprehensive L&D nursing care across triage, antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, and newborn stages
  • May be asked to serve as a patient watcher for mental health or at-risk patients when floating outside the OB unit
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
  • Travel experience preferred but not required
  • RTO ideally limited to no more than 5 days during the assignment
  • Returning travelers must have a 3-month gap since their last shift worked as staff or per diem
  • Candidates may float within the hospital or to nearby affiliate hospitals as needed
