Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position on a night shift, requiring active RN license, AWHONN fetal monitoring, and NRP certification.
Details
- Work in the Labor & Delivery unit of a hospital's Women's Services department
- Unit includes 9 L&D beds, 3 swing rooms, 2 ORs, and a 3-bed OB ED
- Patient ratios of 1-2
- Unit staffed with a dedicated unit secretary, scrub tech, in-house CRNA and midwife 24/7, and OB on call
- Uses CPN and Meditech documentation systems
- Shift runs 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
- Required to work 4 weekend shifts per month
- May float to Mother/Baby or other departments for tasks as needed
- Performs procedures including circulating in OR, IUPC, FSE, MgSO4 administration, postpartum hemorrhage management with the JADA system, and nitrous oxide use
Requirements
- Active RN license (TN or Compact) required
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP (Advanced 9th Edition), and Fetal Monitoring (Intermediate or Advanced AWHONN, or NCCEFM)
- US Social Security Number and date of birth required for consideration (Canadian SSN not accepted)
- One professional reference required for consideration
- No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
Additional Information
- Provide direct patient care in a laborist team model with 24/7 midwives and dedicated CRNA and OB on call support
- Support patient choice and promote vaginal birth opportunities based on individual preferences
- Unit performs couplet care in postpartum to keep newborns bedside and promote breastfeeding, including donor milk availability when needed
- Facility includes an 8-bed Level 2 NICU with a dedicated NNP available 24/7, including attendance at high-risk deliveries
- Experience with Spinning Babies techniques and STABLE program is helpful but not required
- Required dress code is hot pink and black, with hot pink preferred on top
- Unit recognized as an HCA Unit of Distinction in 2021 and serves as a TIPQC pilot hospital for NTSV and Team Birth initiatives
- Must maintain a patient experience score above 75%
- Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility, as local candidates are not accepted
- No exceptions made to the radius rule for this position
