Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Labor & Delivery RN with 2+ years of L&D and post-partum experience for a Mother Baby Center role requiring MN licensure.

Details

• Work in the Mother Baby Center, providing care in both Labor and Delivery and Postpartum units
• Average daily census of 8 deliveries per day and 15 postpartum patients per day
• Shift options include 3x12 Days (0700-1930) or Nights (1900-0730)
• Required to work every other weekend
• No on-call requirements
• Will float within scope to meet facility needs, including to affiliate hospitals nearby
• Uses Epic (Excellian) for charting

Requirements

• Active or pending MN RN license required
• Current BLS and NRP certifications required
• AWHONN Advanced, AWHONN Intermediate, and FHM certifications preferred
• Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery experience with post-partum experience required
• Experience with sterile vaginal exams required
• Fetal monitoring skills required, including external and internal fetal monitoring, IUPC placement and calibration, and recognition/treatment of abnormal fetal heart rate patterns
• Experience administering Pitocin (oxytocin) required
• Experience managing and administering epidural anesthesia required
• Nitrous oxide administration experience preferred
• 1 supervisor reference required for consideration

• Provide comprehensive care across labor, delivery, and postpartum units
• Facility is a Teaching Hospital and Level 2 Trauma Center with 258 staffed beds
• Scrubs provided by the unit

• Candidates must live at least 100 miles from the facility for consideration
• Previous perm staff or per diem employees must have a 3-month gap since their last shift before returning
• RTO should ideally not exceed 5 days
• Minnesota fingerprinting requirements apply and may extend compliance timelines
