Description

American Traveler is hiring a Labor and Delivery RN with 2 years of L&D and post-partum experience for a night shift position at a teaching hospital's Mother Baby Center.

Details

• Work in the Mother Baby Center, providing care in both labor and post-partum units
• Average daily census of 8 deliveries and 15 post-partum patients
• 3x12 night shift schedule (1900-0730)
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call responsibilities
• Float within the hospital or to an affiliate hospital as needed
• Uses Epic (Excellian) charting system

Requirements

• Active MN RN license (license in hand preferred, pending license accepted)
• Current BLS and NRP certifications required
• AWHONN Advanced, AWHONN Intermediate, and FHM certifications preferred
• 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience with post-partum experience required
• Sterile vaginal exam experience required
• Fetal monitoring skills required, including external and internal fetal monitoring, IUPC placement and calibration, and recognition/treatment of abnormal fetal heart rate patterns
• Experience administering Pitocin (oxytocin) required
• Experience managing and administering epidural anesthesia required
• Nitrous oxide pain management experience preferred
• 1 supervisor reference required for consideration

• Provide labor and delivery and post-partum nursing care within a Mother Baby Center setting
• Level 2 Trauma Center and teaching hospital environment
• Scrubs provided by the unit
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Must be gone 3 months from last shift worked as Perm (Staff or Per Diem) for returning employees
• RTO should ideally be no more than 5 days
• Must reside at least 100 miles from the facility for consideration
• Minnesota state fingerprinting requirement applies for licensure compliance
