Description

American Traveler is hiring a Labor and Delivery RN for a 13-week night shift assignment requiring an active OR RN license and 2 years of L&D experience.

Details

  • Work in the Labor and Delivery unit of a short-term acute care hospital with 109 total staff beds
  • Night shift schedule (3x12 hours), 19:00-7:00
  • Weekend rotation required every other or every third weekend
  • No on-call responsibilities
  • Patient ratios of 1:1 for labor patients and 3:1 for postpartum patients
  • Floating between units and to affiliate facilities based on unit needs and skill set
  • Uses Epic EMR for charting
  • 48-hour work weeks approved

Requirements

  • Active RN license (OR license required, may submit with license pending unless otherwise specified)
  • Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery nursing experience required
  • Required certifications: BLS and NRP
  • Preferred certifications: AWHONN Advanced and STABLE
  • Epic EMR charting experience required
  • Community hospital experience preferred
  • Must have a personal vehicle for this assignment
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
  • 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required

Additional Information

  • Provide comprehensive labor, delivery, postpartum, and newborn care including fetal monitoring, high-risk antepartum care, and neonatal resuscitation support
  • Skilled in labor and delivery management including vaginal deliveries, C-section circulation and recovery, and high-risk delivery assistance
  • Experience with medication administration such as Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, and antihypertensives
  • Care for patients with high-risk conditions including preeclampsia, placenta previa, HELLP syndrome, and preterm labor
  • Scrubs: any color permitted, with facility-provided scrubs for OR, Critical Care, ED, and Maternal Child units
  • No parking fees at this facility
  • Must commit to working 3 of the 5 designated holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
  • RTO requests must be submitted upfront; up to 6 days total or 3 consecutive days can be auto-approved, with additional days subject to client approval
  • Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a travel employee and must not be within 50 miles of the facility
  • Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to qualify for travel rate; local candidates may be accepted at a lower bill rate
  • Travelers may be required to float to sister facilities within the region, including Milwaukie, Newberg, Portland, Hood River, Willamette Falls, Seaside, and Saint Vincent
