Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring 2 years of L&D experience and WA or compact RN licensure.

Details

• Level III high-risk perinatal unit with 19 labor and delivery beds, 10 antepartum beds, and 30 postpartum beds
• Facility performs 200-300 deliveries per month
• Unit includes 3 ORs, 2 PACU bays, and a 7-bay triage area
• Staffing goals include 1:1 in labor, 1:3 couplet care in postpartum, and 1:2-3 in antepartum
• Night shift schedule with 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00-7:30
• Weekend shifts required
• Floating to Postpartum required
• No call requirements
• Epic EMR used

Requirements

• Active WA or compact RN license required in hand at submission
• Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery experience required, following AWHONN standards
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, and AWHONN Intermediate or Relias Fetal Monitoring
• AWHONN Advanced certification preferred
• Epic EMR experience required
• Sterile vaginal exam (SVE) skill required
• Skilled in labor and delivery management including assisting with high-risk and vaginal deliveries, circulating for C-sections, and managing hemorrhage/shock
• Experience with fetal monitoring including recognition of abnormal fetal heart rate patterns and use of external fetal monitoring
• Experience administering medications such as antihypertensives, Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, and Terbutaline
• Experience with newborn care including APGAR scoring, neonatal resuscitation, and newborn assessment
• Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting

• Provide comprehensive care across labor, antepartum, and postpartum units within a high-risk perinatal program
• Support team includes surgical techs, CNAs, delivering providers, CRNAs, and health unit coordinators available 24/7
• Level II Trauma Center with 571 total staffed beds across campuses
• Scrubs of any color permitted except reddish orange
• Parking is facility paid
• Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• All RTO requests must be submitted upfront; post-submission requests may not be accommodated
• Travelers may be required to float between sister facilities near the contracted location
• Local candidates within 50 miles are not accepted for this position
• Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a travel employee
