Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery night shift position requiring 2 years of L&D experience and travel experience.

Details

• Labor and Delivery unit within a Level II Trauma hospital setting
• Night shift, 3x12 hours, 19:00-07:30, various days of the week
• Patient ratios of 1:2 for L&D, up to 4:1 for antepartum or postpartum
• Weekend shifts required per unit needs
• On-call requirements per unit needs
• May float to other units within the same service line and to a sister facility
• Epic charting system required

Requirements

• Active RN license (CO or Compact) currently in hand
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, FHM, and AWHONN Intermediate
• Preferred certifications: AWHONN Advanced and C-EFM
• Minimum 2 years of L&D nursing experience required
• Travel nursing experience required
• Level II Trauma experience required; Level I Trauma and community hospital experience preferred
• Experience with high-risk antepartum, high-risk delivery, and neonatal resuscitation
• Skilled in fetal monitoring, including external and internal fetal monitoring and IUPC placement
• Experience with labor induction and management medications such as Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, and Terbutaline
• Experience caring for patients with pregnancy complications such as pre-eclampsia, placenta previa, and preterm labor
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum patient care, including assisting with vaginal deliveries and C-sections
• Support newborn care in the delivery room, including APGAR scoring and neonatal resuscitation
• Provide postpartum care including hemorrhage management, wound care, and breastfeeding support
• Completion of facility-specific modules required within the first week of assignment
• Maximum of 10 RTO days permitted per 13-week contract, with blackout periods where time off is not approved
• No blocked scheduling requests permitted
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
• Local candidates residing within 75 miles of the facility are eligible for the local pay rate
• Candidates previously employed by UCHealth or its affiliates may be ineligible for consideration
