Travel to Seattle’s First Hill neighborhood for a high-acuity Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse opportunity. This L&D travel nursing job is ideal for an experienced obstetrics RN who thrives in fast-paced maternal health settings and enjoys supporting patients through labor, delivery, postpartum transition, and immediate newborn care.

Join a collaborative maternal-child health team in a busy, high-volume obstetrical unit. This role requires strong high-risk Labor & Delivery experience, comfort circulating in the OR, and the ability to provide immediate newborn care during delivery.

• Weekend/Holiday Commitment: Rotating weekends and 3 of 5 major holidays as needed
• Charting System: Epic
• Orientation: Approximately 36 hours
• Floating: May float to Postpartum, Antepartum, or other nearby maternal-child health units based on need

Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in hand at submission; compact license accepted
• At least 1 year of L&D nursing experience required
• High-risk obstetric experience required
• Epic charting experience required
• Must be able to circulate in the OR for cesarean sections and obstetric procedures
• Must be able to provide immediate newborn care during delivery
• Required certifications: BLS and NRP
• Preferred certifications: ACLS, AWHONN Advanced, and AWHONN Intermediate
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-acuity labor and delivery environment
• Strong communication, assessment, and prioritization skills
• Comfort with floating to related women’s health and maternal-child units as needed

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, expert nursing care to patients throughout labor, delivery, and recovery
• Circulate for cesarean sections and other obstetric procedures
• Serve as the baby nurse during delivery and continue newborn care until transfer to postpartum
• Perform newborn assessments, including eyes and thighs, and administer standard newborn care
• Monitor and support high-risk obstetric patients and respond to changes in condition
• Assist with fetal monitoring and recognition of abnormal fetal heart rate patterns
• Administer and monitor medications such as magnesium sulfate, insulin, and heparin as ordered
• Support vaginal deliveries, C-sections, and recovery care as part of a collaborative healthcare team
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation in Epic
• Work closely with physicians, midwives, and interdisciplinary support teams to promote safe outcomes
