Travel Nursing Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,160–$2,270

- Duration: 26 weeks
- Schedule: 3 shifts per week, 12-hour day shifts
- Shift Hours: 7:00 a.m. – 7:30 p.m.
- Hours: 36 hours per week
- Unit: High-risk, high-volume Labor and Delivery
- Unit Capacity: 31 rooms and approximately 15–17 patients per day
- Weekend and Holiday Coverage: Every other weekend and holidays as needed
- Floating: May float to antepartum, postpartum, mother/baby units, or other areas where applicable skills are needed
Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse Requirements
- At least 1 year of recent Registered Nurse experience in Labor and Delivery
- High-risk Labor and Delivery experience in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
- Current Registered Nurse license valid for practice in Washington; compact license must be in hand when applicable
- Current BLS certification
- Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program certification
- Proficiency with Epic electronic health records and electronic fetal monitoring systems
- Demonstrated ability to function as the baby nurse during delivery and provide newborn care until transfer to postpartum
- Demonstrated ability to circulate for Cesarean sections
- Ability to support vaginal and operative deliveries, newborn assessments, and high-risk antepartum care
- ACLS and AWHONN Advanced or Intermediate certification are preferred
- Strong communication, teamwork, clinical judgment, and adaptability
Labor and Delivery RN Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care for patients throughout labor, delivery, recovery, and immediate postpartum care
- Care for high-risk obstetric patients, including those requiring magnesium sulfate, insulin drips, anticoagulation therapy, and antihypertensive medications
- Recognize and respond to abnormal fetal heart rate patterns and obstetric emergencies
- Use and interpret external fetal monitoring while documenting care accurately in Epic
- Function as the baby nurse during deliveries, including newborn assessments, APGAR scoring, identification and security banding, cord care, thermoregulation, and administration of eye prophylaxis and vitamin K
- Circulate for Cesarean sections and assist with operative deliveries, including forceps and vacuum-assisted births as appropriate
- Support vaginal deliveries, recover Cesarean-section patients, and provide care for patients experiencing postpartum hemorrhage or other complications
- Provide breastfeeding and lactation support, patient education, pain management, and couplet care
- Collaborate with physicians, midwives, respiratory services, pharmacy, social services, and other members of the interdisciplinary care team
- Float to antepartum, postpartum, mother/baby, or other appropriate areas when unit needs require
