Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Labor & Delivery RN for a night shift hospital assignment requiring C-EFM certification and compact or MD RN licensure.

Details

• Labor and Delivery unit within a hospital setting
• Night shift schedule of three 12-hour shifts, 6:50 PM to 7:20 AM
• Patient ratio of 1:2
• Cerner charting system experience preferred
• Will float to Mother/Baby or scrub roles if qualified
• Charge experience required
• Call requirement of 2 shifts per 6-week schedule
• Every other weekend required

Requirements

• Active compact RN license or MD RN license required
• BLS, NRP, and STABLE certifications required
• C-EFM certification through NCC required at time of consideration
• ACLS certification preferred
• 3 years of Labor & Delivery experience preferred, minimum 2 years with strong experience considered
• Cerner charting experience preferred
• Teaching hospital, community hospital, and Trauma Level I experience preferred
• Must have completed at least one prior travel assignment
• Two supervisory references required, including one from the most recent assignment
• Experience must support at least 2 years within the previous 3 years
• Skills in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and administration of blood products required
• Experience with vaginal delivery, C-section circulation, and high-risk delivery assistance required
• Scrubbing for C-section preferred

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive Labor & Delivery nursing care including antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum management
• Support high-risk deliveries, fetal monitoring, and newborn care in the delivery room
• Assist with medication administration including Pitocin, magnesium sulfate, and antihypertensives
• Perform sterile vaginal exams, NSTs, and OCTs as part of antepartum care
• Provide postpartum care including lactation support, fundus checks, and wound care
• Newborn care duties include APGAR scoring, thermoregulation, and hypoglycemia monitoring
• Scrub training preferred for surgical case support
• Local candidates within 60 miles accepted at a lower pay rate
• Previous MedStar employees must have a minimum one-year separation before returning as a traveler
• No RTO permitted during the first two weeks of the assignment
• RTO limited to no more than 7 days per 13-week contract
