Join WCS Healthcare Partners in New Haven, CT, as a dedicated Registered Nurse in the Labor & Delivery unit. This role offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment at a Level I Trauma Center, providing care to mothers and newborns during one of the most critical times in their lives. With guaranteed hours, a supportive interdisciplinary team, and a focus on high-quality patient care, this position is perfect for passionate and skilled nurses looking to make a difference.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive care to mothers and newborns in a Labor & Delivery setting.
  • Administer medications, including blood products, anticoagulants, and antihypertensives.
  • Assist with high-risk deliveries, cesarean sections, and vaginal deliveries.
  • Monitor fetal heart rate patterns and manage labor and delivery complications.
  • Support breastfeeding and lactation for new mothers.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including physical therapy, respiratory services, and social services.
  • Participate in emergency response teams and neonatal resuscitation efforts.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in Labor & Delivery.
  • Current BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications.
  • Experience with Epic charting system preferred.
  • Ability to work every other weekend and fulfill on-call requirements.
  • Strong skills in administering epidural anesthesia, managing high-risk antepartum patients, and performing newborn assessments.
  • Commitment to maintaining high standards of patient care and safety.
