Description

American Traveler is hiring a Labor & Delivery RN for a Level III high-risk perinatal unit, requiring 2+ years of L&D experience and WA or compact RN licensure.

Details

• Level III high-risk perinatal unit with 19 labor and delivery beds, 10 antepartum beds, 30 postpartum beds, 3 ORs, 2 PACU bays, and a 7-bay triage area
• Facility averages 200-300 deliveries per month
• Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00-07:30
• Target staffing ratios include 1:1 in labor, 1:3 couplet care in postpartum with CNA support, and 1:2-3 in antepartum
• Weekend shifts required
• Floating required to Postpartum unit
• No on-call requirements
• Uses Epic EMR

Requirements

• Active WA or compact RN license required in hand at submission
• Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery experience required, following AWHONN standards
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, and AWHONN Intermediate or Relias Fetal Monitoring
• AWHONN Advanced certification preferred
• Epic EMR experience required
• Sterile vaginal exam (SVE) competency required
• Experience with labor and delivery management, high-risk delivery assistance, vaginal delivery assistance, hemorrhage/shock management, and C-section recovery required
• Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, and administration of blood and blood products required
• Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required

Additional Information

• Provide nursing care across labor, antepartum, and postpartum units within a high-risk perinatal program
• Unit supported by 3 skilled triage RNs per shift, surgical techs, CNAs, delivering providers, CRNAs, and health unit coordinators available 24/7
• Scrubs of any color permitted except reddish orange
• Facility-paid parking available
• Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• All RTO requests must be submitted upfront; post-submission RTO requests may not be accommodated
• Travelers may be required to float between sister facilities near the contracted location
• Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must not reside within 50 miles of the facility
• Local candidates are not accepted; a 50-mile radius rule applies
