Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse, Labor and Delivery – Santa Monica, CA 90404

Start Date: August 31, 2026

Location: Beachside acute care hospital in Santa Monica, California

Schedule: Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00 - 07:00), every other weekend required. May float to postpartum as needed. Approximately 200 deliveries per month. No on-call required.

• Comprehensive labor and delivery unit with 4 antepartum rooms, 9 labor/high-risk rooms, and 3 triage rooms
• Opportunity to utilize advanced perinatal skills including fetal heart monitoring, high-risk pregnancy monitoring, vaginal deliveries, and C-sections
• Epic charting system with interdisciplinary support including respiratory services, pharmacy, radiology, and rapid response teams
• 91-day assignment with guaranteed hours (facility may call off once per two-week pay period)
• Bonus opportunities for nurses who can perform postpartum couplet care and newborn roles at delivery

Requirements:

• Active California RN license (must be in hand prior to submission; pending licenses not accepted)
• Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery nursing experience required
• Previous travel nursing experience required; first-time travelers not accepted
• Certifications required: AWHONN Advanced (or NCC EFM acceptable in lieu), ACLS, BLS, NRP, FHM (all AHA certified)
• Epic charting system experience required
• Community hospital experience required
• LA fire card within the last 30 days required
• Skills required: Assist with vaginal delivery, circulate for C-section, high-risk antepartum care, sterile vaginal exam; scrubbing for C-section is a bonus
• Must be able to work 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• Two professional references covering 1 year within the last 3 years
