Description

American Traveler is hiring a Labor & Delivery RN for a night shift assignment requiring C-EFM certification and compact or MD RN licensure.

Details

  • Work in the Labor and Delivery unit of a hospital setting
  • Night shift schedule (3x12 hours), 18:50-07:20
  • Every other weekend required
  • Call required, 2 shifts per 6-week schedule
  • Floating required to Mother/Baby and scrub duties (scrub preferred)
  • Patient ratio of 1:2
  • Uses Cerner charting system

Requirements

  • Active RN license (Compact or MD) required
  • Current certifications required: C-EFM (NCC), BLS, NRP, and STABLE
  • ACLS certification preferred
  • 3 years of Labor & Delivery experience preferred; 2 years with strong experience may be considered
  • 2 years of recent experience within the last 7 years required
  • Charge nurse experience preferred
  • Scrub experience preferred
  • Teaching hospital, community hospital, and Trauma Level I experience preferred
  • Cerner EMR experience preferred
  • Must have completed at least one previous travel assignment

Additional Information

  • Provide comprehensive labor and delivery care including antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum management
  • Assist with vaginal and high-risk deliveries, C-sections, and related surgical procedures
  • Perform fetal monitoring including external and internal fetal heart rate monitoring and IUPC placement
  • Administer medications such as Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, and antihypertensives as needed
  • Support newborn care including APGAR scoring, thermoregulation, and initial assessments
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
  • 26-week contract assignments are accepted
  • Local candidates within 60 miles are accepted at a lower pay rate
  • Candidates must reside within a 60-mile radius to be considered for standard travel rate eligibility
  • No more than 7 days of requested time off permitted per 13-week contract, with no RTO allowed during the first two weeks of the assignment
  • Previous MedStar employees must have a minimum one-year separation before returning as a traveler
