Travel RN Job Details

• Charting: Cerner experience preferred
• Float Requirement: Antepartum
• Weekend Coverage: Variable; some holiday shifts may be required

Labor & Delivery RN Job Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse license; pending licensure may be considered but must be active before the start date
• At least 2 years of Labor & Delivery nursing experience
• Previous charge nurse experience required
• Recent experience caring for antepartum, labor, delivery, and high-risk obstetric patients
• Current BLS, ACLS, NRP, and NIHSS certifications required
• AWHONN Advanced, AWHONN Intermediate, and Fetal Heart Monitoring credentials are highly valued
• Strong fetal monitoring, obstetric triage, emergency response, and patient education skills
• Ability to work rotating weekends and holidays as scheduled

Travel Labor & Delivery RN Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care across triage, antepartum, labor, delivery, and transition areas
• Assist with vaginal deliveries, cesarean sections, high-risk deliveries, forceps or vacuum-assisted deliveries, and newborn transition
• Circulate for C-sections and support sterile procedures, including vaginal examinations and IUPC management
• Monitor maternal and fetal status using external and internal fetal monitoring techniques
• Recognize and respond to abnormal fetal heart rate patterns, pregnancy-induced hypertension, hemorrhage, shock, and other obstetric emergencies
• Administer and monitor medications and therapies such as Pitocin, magnesium sulfate, insulin drips, antihypertensives, terbutaline, epidural anesthesia, and blood products
• Perform triage assessments, pain assessments, sterile examinations, IV starts, Foley catheter management, and infusion monitoring
• Provide newborn identification, security banding, APGAR assessment, thermoregulation, breastfeeding support, and transition care
• Maintain accurate documentation while collaborating with physicians, advanced practice providers, and the interdisciplinary care team
