Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Labor & Delivery RN for a night shift position requiring 2+ years of L&D experience and multiple specialty certifications.

Details

• Labor and Delivery unit in a hospital setting with 200-300 births per month
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00-07:00
• RN will rotate through triage, antepartum, labor, circulating, and transition duties (no post-partum)
• Handles high risk antepartum and high risk delivery cases
• Administers medications including antihypertensives, insulin drips, magnesium sulfate therapy, pitocin, and terbutaline
• Performs neonatal care in the delivery room including APGAR scoring and radiant warmer/thermoregulation
• Assists with vaginal deliveries, C-sections, forceps/vacuum extraction, and hemorrhage/shock management
• Uses external and internal fetal monitoring, including IUPC placement and calibration
• Cerner charting experience preferred

Requirements

• Active TX or compact RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery experience required, including circulating and transitioning newborns
• Previous charge experience required
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, NRP
• Preferred certifications: AWHONN Advanced, AWHONN Intermediate, FHM
• Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, blood/blood product administration, and infusion pump/drip monitoring
• Experience with sterile vaginal exams, NSTs, and obstetrical triage
• Must submit RTO with application
• Pending license accepted at time of consideration but must be active before start date

Additional Information

• Rotates through antepartum, high risk antepartum, labor, circulating, and transition roles
• Provides newborn identification, cardiac monitoring, and emergency care as needed
• Supports pain management including epidural and general anesthesia, and PCA use
• Follows isolation precautions and PPE protocols
• Administers vaccines as part of professional scope
• Expected to work some holidays
• Must reside within a 50-mile radius of the facility; local candidates within this radius are not accepted
• An onsite drug screen is required upon arrival, including testing for marijuana, with a positive result resulting in automatic cancellation
• First-time travelers may be considered if they meet the required experience qualifications
