Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position at a Level I Trauma Center, requiring a CT or compact RN license and 2 years of L&D experience.

Details

• Labor and Delivery unit within a Level I Trauma Center, academic medical center setting
• Facility handles 200-300 births per month, including high risk antepartum care
• Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00-07:30)
• Every other weekend required
• On-call requirement of two 4-hour blocks per 6-week schedule
• No floating required outside of scope
• Block scheduling accommodated
• Scrubs provided by facility
• Charting completed in Epic

Requirements

• Active CT or compact RN license required prior to start date
• Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery experience required (1.5 years considered with Level I trauma or travel experience)
• Required certifications: BLS, NRP
• Preferred certifications: ACLS, AWHONN Beginner
• Epic charting experience preferred
• Teaching hospital and Trauma Level I experience preferred
• Experience with high-risk deliveries, EFM, IUPC placement, and postpartum care
• Skills in medication administration including Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, and antihypertensives
• One professional reference required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive care across antepartum, labor, delivery, postpartum, and newborn stages
• Assist with vaginal deliveries, C-sections, and high-risk delivery procedures
• Support neonatal care including APGAR scoring, newborn assessments, and thermoregulation
• Participate in facility emergency response activities as needed, including natural disaster response
• RTO requests greater than 7 days require additional approval
• Flu vaccine required with no declinations accepted
• COVID vaccine and booster required, with only religious or medical exemptions accepted
• Local candidates not accepted; must reside more than 75 miles from the facility
• Previous perm staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 2 years to be considered as a traveler
