Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) Travel Contract – Everett, Washington
Experienced Labor & Delivery RN? Join a high-acuity maternal-child health team in Everett, Washington, for a 13-week travel nursing contract caring for high-risk perinatal patients across labor, delivery, antepartum, and postpartum settings. This opportunity is ideal for an L&D travel nurse who is confident supporting routine and complex deliveries. Travel Nursing Job Details
- Location: Everett, Washington
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,260–$2,380
- Assignment Type: 13-week Labor & Delivery travel contract
- Start Date: October 26, 2026
- Schedule: 3 shifts per week; 12-hour night shifts, approximately 7:00 p.m.–7:30 a.m.
- Hours: 36 hours per week
- Unit: High-risk Labor & Delivery/Postpartum
- Unit Highlights: 19 labor and delivery beds, 10 antepartum beds, 30 postpartum beds, 3 operating rooms, 2 PACU bays, and a 7-bay triage area
- Patient Population: Adults and neonates
- Charting: Epic experience required
- Weekend Coverage: Weekends required
- Float: May float to Postpartum
- Call: Not required
Labor & Delivery RN Job Requirements
- At least 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery RN experience; experience in high-volume units is strongly preferred
- Experience with approximately 200 or more deliveries annually preferred; applicants with experience in units handling 100–200 deliveries may also be considered
- Current Registered Nurse license eligible for practice in Washington; compact license must be in hand when applicable
- Current BLS/BCLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications
- AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring or Relias Fetal Monitoring certification; AWHONN Advanced is also accepted
- Proficiency with Epic electronic health records
- Demonstrated competency with sterile vaginal examinations; this is a required skill
- Strong experience with fetal monitoring, high-risk antepartum care, vaginal and cesarean deliveries, postpartum care, and neonatal assessment
- Availability to work weekends and float to Postpartum as needed
Labor & Delivery RN Responsibilities
- Provide evidence-based nursing care for patients in labor, delivery, antepartum, postpartum, and recovery settings
- Perform and document sterile vaginal examinations, fetal assessments, non-stress tests, and continuous external or internal fetal monitoring
- Recognize and respond to abnormal fetal heart rate patterns, preeclampsia/eclampsia, HELLP syndrome, hemorrhage, preterm labor, premature rupture of membranes, and other high-risk conditions
- Assist with vaginal deliveries, high-risk deliveries, cesarean sections, VBACs, forceps or vacuum-assisted deliveries, and delivery-room procedures
- Administer and monitor therapies including oxytocin, magnesium sulfate, insulin, antihypertensives, terbutaline, epidural anesthesia, and blood products according to clinical protocols
- Provide newborn assessments, APGAR scoring, neonatal resuscitation, thermoregulation, cord care, and management of newborn hypoglycemia or other transition concerns
- Deliver couplet care, breastfeeding and lactation support, discharge education, and postpartum assessments
- Collaborate with obstetric providers, anesthesia, surgical services, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, radiology, social services, and other members of the interdisciplinary team
- Maintain accurate Epic documentation while promoting patient safety, clear communication, and family-centered care
