In this L&D RN travel assignment, you will support patients across labor, antepartum, postpartum, and mother/baby care areas while collaborating with a skilled interdisciplinary team. Candidates should be comfortable caring for high-risk obstetric patients, adapting to changing unit needs, and helping deliver excellent outcomes for mothers and babies.

• Schedule Notes: Weekend coverage required; on-call may be required when scheduled shifts are cancelled

Job Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year of Labor & Delivery nursing experience required
• Active Registered Nurse license required; compact license must be in hand at submission
• Current BLS, NRP, and AWHONN Intermediate certifications required
• Experience with Epic charting required
• Strong experience supporting high-risk OB patients
• Comfort floating between labor, mother/baby, and antepartum units as needed
• Ability to work 1:1 patient assignments when indicated
• Must be willing to work every other weekend and commit to 3 of 5 major holidays
• Must have reliable transportation for assignment needs

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, high-quality bedside care to laboring patients, postpartum patients, and newborns
• Assist with high-risk deliveries, vaginal births, and cesarean sections
• Monitor fetal status and respond appropriately to changes in maternal or fetal condition
• Perform assessments, administer medications, and support interventions for antepartum and postpartum patients
• Assist with newborn stabilization, thermoregulation, and routine newborn assessments
• Support procedures such as IV management, blood and blood product administration, and emergency obstetric interventions
• Collaborate with physicians, charge nurses, and interdisciplinary team members to deliver coordinated maternal-newborn care
• Adapt to unit needs by floating within related maternal-child areas when requested
• Maintain accurate documentation and uphold hospital policies, safety standards, and patient confidentiality
