Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse, Labor and Delivery – Seattle, WA 98122

Start Date: November 16, 2026

Location: Seattle, Washington

Schedule: Night shift, 4x12-hour shifts (19:00 - 07:30). Work every other weekend and holidays as needed. Schedule posted every 6 weeks to meet unit needs. 40-hour orientation provided.

Highlights:

• High-volume, high-acuity Labor and Delivery unit with 550+ deliveries per month and 31 beds
• Diverse patient population including midwifery clients, private OB patients, and Adult Recovery Services supporting substance recovery
• Four operating rooms supporting all types of deliveries in a fast-paced teaching environment
• Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including respiratory services, pharmacy, rapid response teams, and interpretation services
• First-time travelers accepted with appropriate experience
• Average daily census of 15-17 patients with staffing following AWHONN guidelines

Requirements:

• Active Washington state RN license or Compact license
• Minimum 1 year of Labor and Delivery experience required
• High-risk obstetrical experience required; must be comfortable in fast-paced, high-acuity environments
• Must be able to function as Baby Nurse during delivery and provide newborn care until transfer to postpartum (required)
• Must be able to circulate for cesarean sections (required)
• Proficiency in Epic electronic charting system required (hard stop)
• Experience with electronic fetal monitoring required
• Required certifications: BLS, NRP
• Preferred certifications: ACLS, AWHONN Advanced, AWHONN Intermediate
• Experience with newborn care including eye prophylaxis, Vitamin K injections, and newborn assessments
• Competency with high-risk medications including Heparin, Insulin, and Magnesium Sulfate
• Willingness to float to Postpartum/Antepartum units and potentially to sister facilities for Mother/Baby care
• Two professional references covering 1 year within the last 3 years
