Description

American Traveler is hiring a Labor & Delivery RN for a high-risk OB unit requiring at least 2 years of recent L&D experience and Epic proficiency.

Details

• Work in the Labor & Delivery unit of a short-term acute care hospital handling 200-300 births per month
• High-risk OB patient population including antepartum, high-risk antepartum, and mother/baby couplet care
• Patient ratios range from 1:1 to 1:3 couplets
• Rotating 12-hour day and night shifts (3x12), with start times of 3am/3pm or 11am/11pm
• Every other weekend required
• On-call required for scheduled shifts if cancelled
• Floating to other units and sister facilities within the health system based on skill set and needs
• Uses Epic EMR

Requirements

• Active OR RN license required
• Active RN license (Compact preferred) in hand at time of submission
• BLS and NRP certifications required; AWHONN Intermediate certification preferred
• Minimum of 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Experience with high-risk OB care, fetal monitoring, and management of pregnancy complications such as pre-eclampsia and postpartum hemorrhage
• Skills in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and use of infusion pumps required
• Experience assisting with vaginal deliveries, circulating for C-sections, and neonatal resuscitation preferred
• Must have a personal vehicle for this assignment

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive labor, delivery, and postpartum care including fetal monitoring, medication administration, and newborn assessment
• Assist with high-risk deliveries, C-sections, and related surgical procedures as needed
• Support neonatal care in the delivery room including APGAR scoring and thermoregulation
• Scrub attire provided for L&D unit
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Returning former employees must wait at least 3 months and reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
• Local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate within a 50-mile radius
• Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• All RTO and scheduling requests must be submitted upfront during the application process
• Two supervisory references covering at least 1 year of experience within the last 3 years are required prior to start
