Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring EPIC experience and proficiency with high-risk obstetric care including Magnesium Sulfate drips and C-Section support.

• Labor and Delivery unit in a hospital setting
• Day shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 6:45 AM to 7:15 PM
• No block scheduling; flexibility required
• Floating to the Post-Partum unit required based on patient care needs
• 13-week assignment length

Requirements

• Active WA or compact RN license required
• BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications required
• AWHONN Advanced, AWHONN Intermediate, and FHM certifications preferred
• Minimum 2 years of L&D experience in a unit with comparable volume and acuity required
• Prior travel nurse experience required
• EPIC charting experience required
• Experience with Magnesium Sulfate drips, C-Sections, and high-risk deliveries required
• Skilled in fetal monitoring, including external and internal fetal monitoring and IUPC placement
• Experience assisting with vaginal deliveries, circulating and scrubbing for C-Sections, and managing obstetric hemorrhage/shock
• Charge nurse experience preferred

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive care across antepartum, labor and delivery, and postpartum stages
• Manage high-risk conditions such as pre-eclampsia, placenta previa, preterm labor, and VBAC/trial of labor patients
• Administer medications including Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, antihypertensives, and insulin drips
• Support newborn care including APGAR scoring, neonatal resuscitation, and newborn assessments
• Provide postpartum care including fundal checks, lactation support, and management of postpartum hemorrhage
• Maximum RTO of 5 days per assignment, with all time off requests disclosed prior to consideration
• Must be available to work at least 2 of 3 scheduled holidays
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate as non-local travelers
• Travel pairs accepted
• Former staff must be separated from the facility for at least 1 year before being considered for a travel assignment
