Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Labor and Delivery RN for a high-risk, high-volume unit requiring night shift availability and WA or compact RN licensure.

Details

• Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:30
• High-risk, high-volume Labor and Delivery unit with 4 ORs, 31 rooms/beds
• Average daily census of 15 patients with 500-600 deliveries per month
• Patient population includes midwifery clients, private OB patients, adult recovery services for substance recovery, and community care clinic patients
• Uses Epic EMR and electronic fetal monitoring
• Floating required to Post Partum/Antepartum units and sister facilities offering Mother/Baby services
• Works every other weekend and holidays as needed
• Schedule posted every 6 weeks based on unit needs

Requirements

• Active WA or compact RN license required in hand at time of submission
• BLS and NRP certifications required
• ACLS, AWHONN Advanced, and AWHONN Intermediate certifications preferred
• Minimum 1 year of Labor and Delivery experience required, 2-3 years preferred
• High-risk L&D experience required
• Must be able to function in the Baby Nurse role during delivery and provide newborn care until transfer to postpartum
• Must be able to circulate for deliveries
• Experience with Heparin, Insulin, and Magnesium Sulfate administration required
• Epic EMR experience required
• 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required
• Full SSN and DOB required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provides direct patient care in a fast-paced, high-acuity Labor and Delivery environment
• Performs newborn assessments, eye care, and Vitamin K injections
• Staffing follows AWHONN guidelines
• Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• Pre-approved time off considered on a case-by-case basis and should be requested upfront
• First-time travelers accepted
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate
• Local radius rule of 50 miles applies
• Former permanent employees at this facility may return as travelers after a 3-month separation period, provided they do not reside within 50 miles of the facility
• Travelers may be required to float to sister facilities within the state
