Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse, Labor and Delivery – Seattle, WA 98122

Start Date: October 19, 2026

Location: Seattle, Washington

Schedule: Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00 - 07:30). Every other weekend and holiday coverage as needed. Schedule posted every 6 weeks to meet unit needs.

Highlights:

• High-volume, high-acuity Labor and Delivery unit with 550 deliveries per month and 31 beds
• Comprehensive maternal care including midwifery clients, private OB patients, and Adult Recovery Services supporting substance recovery
• Four operating rooms supporting all types of deliveries in a fast-paced teaching environment
• Interdisciplinary support including respiratory services, pharmacy, radiology, social services, and rapid response teams
• First-time travelers accepted with appropriate high-risk experience
• 26-week assignment with 36-40 hours of orientation

Requirements:

• Active Compact RN license (must be in hand at submission)
• Minimum 1 year of Labor and Delivery experience with high-risk patient populations required
• Epic charting system experience required; electronic fetal monitoring (OBIX) experience required
• BLS and NRP certifications required; ACLS, AWHONN Advanced, and AWHONN Intermediate preferred
• Must be able to function as Baby Nurse during delivery and provide newborn care until transfer to postpartum (hard requirement)
• Must be able to circulate for C-sections (hard requirement)
• Proficiency in newborn assessments, eye prophylaxis, and Vitamin K injections (thighs)
• Experience with high-risk medications including Heparin, Insulin, and Magnesium Sulfate
• Ability to work in high-acuity, fast-paced environments with patient ratios of 1:2
• Willingness to float to Postpartum, Antepartum, and potentially sister facilities for Labor and Delivery coverage
• Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• Two professional references covering 1 year within the last 3 years
