Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Labor and Delivery RN for a 13-week day shift assignment requiring AWHONN Advanced and NRP Advanced certifications.

Details

• Labor and Delivery unit within an acute care hospital
• Day shift schedule (3x12 hours, 7:00-19:00)
• Patient ratio of 1:2
• Weekend requirement of 2 weekends every 6 weeks, with night shift weekends potentially including Fridays
• No on-call responsibilities required
• No floating outside of scope required
• Facility uses Cerner for charting
• Facility handles 100 to 300+ births

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required
• Current certifications: BLS, AWHONN Advanced, NRP Advanced (must include all 11 components), and Advanced Fetal Monitoring (AFM)
• ACLS and EFM certifications also required
• Minimum 1 year of Labor and Delivery experience required
• Vaginal exam and baby care experience required
• First-time travelers accepted

Additional Information

• Facility is a Magnet-designated, teaching hospital and Level II Trauma Center with 412 staffed beds
• Holiday RTO limited to 1 request, though staff will most likely be required to work holidays
• Strict dress code including no facial hair, no acrylic nails, no unnatural hair colors, all tattoos covered, and limited earrings only
• Local candidates accepted
• Previous staff must be separated from the facility for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
• Scrub colors are open aside from camouflage or character patterns
