Join a dedicated Labor & Delivery team as a travel Registered Nurse in Mooresville, North Carolina. Travel Nursing Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,470–$2,600
- Location: Mooresville, North Carolina
- Assignment Type: 13-week Labor & Delivery travel nursing contract
- Start Date: October 19, 2026; alternate start date of November 2, 2026 may be considered
- Schedule: 3 shifts per week
- Shift Duration: 12-hour night shifts, approximately 7:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m.
- Weekend and Holiday Coverage: Rotation required
- On-Call: Required for low-census needs
- Orientation: Biweekly orientation; approximately 24 hours
- Patient Ratios: Approximately 2 patients per nurse
- Unit Environment: Six-room Labor & Delivery unit supporting scheduled inductions, cervical ripening, external cephalic version, Cesarean sections, and magnesium therapy
Labor & Delivery RN Job Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery RN experience; at least 1 year of relevant experience required
- Previous travel nursing experience required
- Active North Carolina RN license or compact RN license in hand
- Current BLS certification
- AWHONN Intermediate certification
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
- AWHONN Advanced certification preferred
- Strong experience with fetal monitoring, labor management, vaginal delivery, Cesarean recovery, postpartum hemorrhage, preeclampsia, gestational diabetes, gestational hypertension, oligohydramnios, and high-risk deliveries
- Ability to float to Postpartum when needed
- Flu vaccination is required
- Reliable attendance and ability to complete required orientation and compliance activities on schedule
Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum patients
- Perform triage, assessments, sterile vaginal examinations, fetal monitoring, and ongoing evaluation of maternal and fetal status
- Assist with and recover vaginal deliveries, high-risk deliveries, and Cesarean sections; circulate or scrub as assigned
- Administer and monitor oxytocin, magnesium sulfate, antihypertensives, insulin drips, anticoagulation therapy, and other obstetric medications
- Recognize and respond to abnormal fetal heart-rate patterns, hemorrhage, shock, hypertensive disorders, and other obstetric emergencies
- Support newborn assessment, neonatal resuscitation, thermoregulation, identification, metabolic screening, and care of infants older than 35 weeks
- Provide couplet care, fundus and lochia assessment, perineal care, discharge education, breastfeeding support, and newborn-care teaching
- Initiate and maintain IVs, manage epidurals and infusion pumps, obtain blood samples, and administer blood products as indicated
- Collaborate with respiratory services, pharmacy, radiology, phlebotomy, rapid response teams, and other members of the interdisciplinary care team
- Float to Postpartum as needed while maintaining safe, compassionate, and patient-centered care
