Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse, Labor and Delivery – Eureka, CA 95501

Start Date: September 8, 2026

Location: Eureka, California

Schedule: Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (6:00 PM - 6:30 AM), 26-week assignment. Weekend coverage required to meet staffing needs. Daily census of 15-20 patients with 11 rooms and 15 beds available.

Highlights:

• Work with a culturally diverse patient population in a facility that provides high-risk obstetrical care
• Circulate on cesarean sections and assist with vaginal deliveries in a dynamic Labor and Delivery environment
• Postpartum experience preferred; float opportunities available within scope of practice to meet facility needs
• 40 hours of paid orientation to ensure successful onboarding
• First-time travelers welcome with at least one year of Labor and Delivery experience
• Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)

Requirements:

• Active California RN license or Compact license (must be in hand at time of submission; pending licenses not accepted)
• Minimum 1 year of Labor and Delivery nursing experience required
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, and AWHONN Intermediate
• Epic charting system experience required
• Patient ratio experience of 1:3
• Proficiency in essential L&D skills including fetal monitoring, labor support, postpartum care, newborn assessment, cesarean section circulation, breastfeeding support, and administration of medications including Pitocin and Magnesium Sulfate
• Two professional references covering 1 year of experience within the last 3 years
• Clean background check required (no exceptions for background discrepancies)
• Candidates must not reside within 50 miles of the facility
