Start Date: August 24, 2026

Location: Eureka, California

Schedule: Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (18:00 - 06:30), 26-week assignment. Weekend coverage required to meet staffing needs. Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day).

Highlights:

• Labor and Delivery position with postpartum care preferred; couplet care experience valued
• Work with a culturally diverse patient population in a facility that cares for high-risk obstetrics
• RNs circulate on cesarean sections and assist with vaginal deliveries
• Average daily census of 15-20 patients with approximately 20 visits per day
• Unit features 11 rooms and 15 beds with comprehensive interdisciplinary support
• 40 hours of orientation provided; Epic charting system utilized

Requirements:

• Active California RN license or Compact license (must be in hand at time of submission; pending licenses not accepted)
• Minimum 1 year of Labor and Delivery nursing experience required
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, and AWHONN Intermediate
• Epic charting system experience required
• Patient ratio experience of 1:3 required
• Core competencies must include: labor and delivery care, cesarean section circulation, postpartum hemorrhage management, fetal monitoring (external and internal), magnesium sulfate therapy, epidural anesthesia assistance, newborn assessment, breastfeeding support, and discharge teaching
• Must be willing to float to meet facility needs within scope of practice
• Two professional references covering 1 year within the last 3 years required
• Clean background check required (facility does not accept Nursys or background hits)
• Must reside outside 50-mile local radius or will be considered at adjusted rate

Travelers may be expected to float between nearby facilities as needed to support patient care.
