Description

American Traveler is hiring a Labor & Delivery RN for a night shift assignment requiring 3+ years of L&D experience and Epic proficiency.

Details

• Labor and Delivery unit featuring 4 triage rooms, 11 LDR rooms, 2 ORs, NICU, and Post-Partum care
• 24/7 OB hospitalist and OB anesthesia coverage supporting low and high risk L&D cases
• Patient population includes neonates, adolescents, and adults
• Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 19:00-7:30)
• 4 weekend shifts per month required (Friday or Saturday nights)
• Mandatory on-call responsibilities twice per month in addition to scheduled shifts
• May be placed on call in lieu of scheduled shift if not needed
• Floating to Perinatal required as needed
• Uses Epic, eMD Allscripts, SBAR, and Omnicell systems

Requirements

• Active California RN license required at time of submission
• Minimum 3 years of Labor and Delivery experience required
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, and AWHONN Advanced
• Epic experience required
• Allscripts charting experience preferred
• Skilled in external fetal monitoring and recognition/treatment of abnormal fetal heart rate patterns
• Able to circulate for C-sections
• References required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive nursing care across triage, LDR, OR, and post-partum settings within a high-acuity L&D unit
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Local candidates accepted at the travel rate
• Return staff reviewed on a case-by-case basis
• No RTO permitted during the first two weeks of the assignment
• Maximum of 3 days RTO allowed for the full 13-week contract
• One holiday RTO request may be submitted but is not guaranteed approval
• Must work most holidays
• All RTO requests must be finalized and submitted at time of application, as changes are not permitted once submitted
• Advanced EKG exam required prior to start, with a minimum passing score of 80%
• Facility maintains a smoke and nicotine-free environment, and candidates must arrive free of tobacco odor
