Care Career is seeking a travel nurse RN Labor and Delivery for a travel nursing job in Santa Maria, California.

Job Responsibilities:
Provide comprehensive nursing care to laboring, antepartum, postpartum, and high-risk obstetric patients.
Monitor maternal and fetal well-being using continuous fetal monitoring.
Assist physicians during vaginal deliveries and cesarean sections.
Circulate during C-section procedures and maintain a sterile environment.
Assess, monitor, and manage patients with high-risk pregnancies, including pre-eclampsia, insulin-dependent diabetes, substance use disorders, and other obstetric complications.
Administer medications, IV therapy, and blood products as ordered.
Care for mothers and newborns during the immediate postpartum period when floating to Postpartum.
Educate patients and families regarding labor, delivery, postpartum recovery, breastfeeding, and newborn care.
Document patient care accurately using the Cerner electronic medical record system.
Collaborate with obstetricians, anesthesia providers, pediatric teams, respiratory therapists, and the multidisciplinary healthcare team to provide safe, high-quality patient care.
Job Requirements: Active RN license Current BLS Certification ACLS Certification Advanced Fetal Monitoring (AWHONN) NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) COVID-19 vaccination required Previous Labor & Delivery experience required Circulating for C-sections is required Scrubbing for C-sections is preferred Ability to care for high-risk obstetric patients Willingness to float to the Postpartum unit when needed
