Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor and Delivery position requiring 2 years of L&D experience and AWHONN/NRP certifications on a night shift schedule.

• Labor and Delivery unit setting
• 1:2 patient ratio
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours (19:00-07:00)
• 13-week assignment length
• Equitable weekend rotation required per schedule period
• Floating required 0-3 times per month within OB as helping hands, sitter/camera watching, or CNA-type work
• Royal blue scrub color required

Requirements

• Active AK RN license required
• Current BLS, ACLS, AWHONN Intermediate, and NRP certifications required
• AWHONN Advanced certification preferred
• EFM certification through intermediate AWHONN or Relias/Gnosis accepted
• Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience required, LDRP experience preferred
• Experience with high-risk delivery, vaginal delivery, and C-section recovery required
• Experience with fetal monitoring including EFM and recognition of abnormal fetal heart rate patterns
• Experience with medication administration including Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, and antihypertensives
• Newborn care experience including APGAR scoring and neonatal resuscitation
• Epic EMR experience preferred (1 year)
• Two professional references from the past 2 years required, at least one from a supervisor

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care for laboring and postpartum patients and their newborns in compliance with professional practice and unit standards
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care needs throughout the labor and delivery process
• Direct and delegate care to other team members based on their education, credentials, and demonstrated competence
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary care team including physicians, nursing staff, and support personnel
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Candidates must not reside within 60 miles of the facility to be considered
• Previous PeaceHealth employees must have been separated from the health system for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
• Candidates with more than one DUI are not eligible for consideration
• Start date may be delayed up to 8 weeks if AK license is pending at time of offer
