Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse, Labor and Delivery – Eureka, CA 95501

Start Date: November 2, 2026

Location: Eureka, California

Schedule: Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts (06:00 - 16:00). Weekend coverage required to meet staffing needs. Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day). Floating to sister facilities may be required based on facility needs.

Highlights:

• 182-day travel assignment in a dynamic Labor and Delivery unit caring for a culturally diverse patient population
• Experience with high-risk obstetrics, including RN circulation on cesarean sections
• Daily census of 15-20 patients with approximately 20 visits per day in an 11-room, 15-bed unit
• Postpartum experience preferred; comprehensive orientation provided (40 hours)
• First-time travelers welcome with at least 1 year of experience
• Opportunity to work with interdisciplinary support including Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Pharmacy, and Rapid Response Teams

Requirements:

• Active California RN license or Compact license (pending licenses not accepted)
• Minimum 1 year of Labor and Delivery nursing experience
• Current certifications: ACLS, AWHONN Intermediate, BLS, and NRP
• Epic charting system experience required
• Patient ratio experience of 1:3
• Proficiency in core L&D skills including fetal monitoring, labor support, vaginal delivery assistance, C-section circulation, postpartum care, newborn assessment, and breastfeeding support
• Two professional references covering 1 year within the last 3 years
• Ability to float within scope of practice as needed
• Request time off (RTO) limited to no more than 7 days; all scheduling requests must be submitted upfront
