Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Labor & Delivery RN for a high-risk L&D unit requiring a CA RN license and fetal monitoring certification.

Details

• Labor & Delivery unit in a community hospital setting with high-risk labor and delivery and high-risk antepartum care
• Facility averages 100-300+ births per month
• Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• Every other weekend required
• Must be willing to float to postpartum unit as needed
• 1:2 patient ratio
• Epic charting system used
• Responsibilities include triage, circulating in the OR, and newborn/infant care

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of L&D experience, with most recent experience within the last 6 months
• Experience in hospitals with a minimum of 150 births per month required
• Community hospital experience required
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NRP certification required
• Intermediate or Advanced Fetal Monitoring certification required
• AWHONN Beginner certification required at minimum (Intermediate or Advanced accepted)
• 2 supervisor references obtained within the past year required for consideration
• Copies of all certifications with valid expiration dates required

Additional Information

• Provide nursing care for high-risk antepartum and labor and delivery patients, including assisting with high-risk and vaginal deliveries
• Experience circulating and scrubbing for C-sections preferred
• Skilled in fetal monitoring, including recognition of abnormal fetal heart rate patterns and use of internal/external fetal monitors
• Experience with newborn assessment, APGAR scoring, and thermoregulation preferred
• Teaching hospital and trauma center experience preferred but not required
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• Must reside within a 50-mile radius to be eligible for the local rate
• Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, with only 1 holiday allowed to be requested off
• Holiday coverage required for New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day
• Returning staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 1 year to be eligible to return as a traveler
• First-time travelers are not considered for this position
