Description

American Traveler is hiring a Labor & Delivery RN for a night shift assignment requiring labor and postpartum experience with a CA RN license.

Details

• Labor and Delivery unit within an acute care hospital
• Night shift, 3x12 hours (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM), with 4x12 available upon request
• Patient ratio of 1:3
• 36-hour orientation period
• Floating between like units required
• Facility retains ability to call off shifts once per two-week pay period

Requirements

• Active CA RN license (Compact license must be in hand at time of submission)
• Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience required
• Required certifications: ACLS, AWHONN Intermediate, BLS, NRP
• AWHONN Advanced certification preferred
• Labor and postpartum experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Trauma Level II experience preferred
• 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years

Additional Information

• Manage labor and delivery care including high-risk and vaginal deliveries, C-section circulation and recovery, and hemorrhage/shock response
• Provide antepartum, postpartum, and newborn care including NST, EFM, and newborn assessments
• Administer medications including Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, and antihypertensives
• Support neonatal resuscitation and care in the delivery room
• Scrub color for L&D is provided by facility
• Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• RTO must be submitted upfront at time of application; post-submission RTO requests may not be accommodated
• May be required to float between sister facilities
• First-time travelers are not accepted for this role
• Local candidates are not accepted
• Radius requirement of 50 miles for former employees seeking to return as travelers
• Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler
