Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring a CA RN license and 2 years of L&D experience with fetal monitoring skills.

Details

• Care for labor and delivery, antepartum, mother/baby, and postpartum patients
• Experience circulating for C-sections required
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00-07:00
• No on-call requirements
• No holiday or weekend coverage required
• No floating to other units required
• Patient ratio of 1:3
• Uses Epic charting system

Requirements

• Active CA RN license
• 2 years of Labor & Delivery experience required
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications required
• EFM (External Fetal Heart Monitoring) experience required
• AWHONN Intermediate certification required; AWHONN Advanced preferred
• Epic charting experience required
• Skilled in IV therapy, starting and maintaining IVs, and use of infusion pumps
• Experience with labor and delivery management including amnioinfusion, assisting with high-risk and vaginal deliveries, and forceps/vacuum extraction
• Skilled in sterile vaginal exams and hemorrhage/shock management
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Previous charge experience preferred

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive nursing care across antepartum, labor and delivery, and postpartum units
• Assist with high-risk deliveries, C-section recovery, and newborn care in the delivery room
• Support medication administration including Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, and antihypertensives as needed
• Provide postpartum care including fundus/lochia/perineum assessment and breastfeeding support
• Must reside within a 50-mile radius to qualify for local candidate rate
• Returning employees must have a 1-year separation before being eligible to return as a traveler
• Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract with only 1 holiday request permitted per contract
• First-time travelers are not considered for this position
