Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor and Delivery position requiring circulator experience and Ohio or compact RN licensure.

Details

• .Work in the Labor and Delivery unit of a hospital main campus setting
• Night shift, 4x12 or 3x12 hours (19:00-7:00)
• Rotating weekends and holidays required
• Contract length flexible between 8-26 weeks
• Candidates will float within the hospital or to nearby affiliate hospitals
• Epic EMR experience preferred
• Facility performs fewer than 100 births per month
• Low risk Labor & Delivery, LDRP, Level I Nursery, and Mother/Baby settings

Requirements

• Active RN license (Ohio or Compact) required
• Current certifications: BLS, NRP, and Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM); ACLS and STABLE preferred
• AWHONN Beginner and Intermediate certifications preferred
• Minimum 2 years of experience in Labor & Delivery and Postpartum care for mom and baby required
• Circulator experience required
• Epic charting system experience required
• Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and administration of blood and blood products
• Experience assisting with vaginal and high-risk deliveries, circulating for C-sections, and forceps/vacuum extraction
• Experience with amnioinfusion, hemorrhage/shock management, and C-section recovery
• Experience with antepartum, postpartum, and newborn care procedures
• Experience with fetal monitoring including internal and external EFM and IUPC placement
• Experience with VBAC management and trial of labor
• Two professional references required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive care across antepartum, labor and delivery, postpartum, and newborn stages
• Perform neonatal care in the delivery room including APGAR scoring and neonatal resuscitation
• Manage pain interventions including epidural and general anesthesia support
• Provide discharge teaching to parents, including newborn care and circumcision care instructions
• Utilize rapid response and code teams for cardiac monitoring and emergency care as needed
