Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor and Delivery position requiring WA or compact RN license and high-risk L&D expertise.

Details

  • , care, Level II Pediatric Trauma Center, and teaching hospital setting
  • Unit: Labor and Delivery
  • Patient population includes acute care high-risk labor and delivery, antepartum, pre-eclampsia, diabetes, multiples, and VBAC/TOLAC cases
  • Handles active management of laboring patients, induction/augmentation, and maternal emergencies
  • Patient ratios: Labor 1:2, Antepartum 1:3
  • Night shift schedule: 4x12 hours, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
  • Some weekend shifts required
  • Floating between units required
  • No on-call responsibilities
  • Uses Epic charting system

Requirements

  • Active RN license (WA or compact) required and must be in hand at submission
  • Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience required
  • Experience with 1:2 patient ratios required
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, AWHONN Intermediate, FHM, and NRP
  • Skilled in high-risk delivery assistance, C-section circulation and scrubbing, hemorrhage/shock management, and vaginal delivery assistance
  • Experience with fetal monitoring including external and internal fetal monitoring and IUPC placement
  • Experience managing high-risk conditions such as pre-eclampsia, HELLP syndrome, placenta previa, and multiple gestation
  • Experience with medication administration including Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, and antihypertensives
  • Able to function independently with L&D experience even without prior travel assignment experience
  • Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required

  • Provide direct patient care across labor, antepartum, and postpartum stages including high-risk pregnancies
  • Assist with high-risk and vaginal deliveries, C-sections, and neonatal resuscitation in the delivery room
  • Perform antepartum procedures such as NST, OCT, and sterile vaginal exams
  • Support postpartum care including couplet care, breastfeeding support, and wound assessment
  • Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
  • RTO requests should be submitted upfront prior to offer, as post-offer requests may not be accommodated
  • Candidates must reside within a 50-mile radius or accept the local bill rate
  • Former Providence facility employees may return as travelers after a 3-month waiting period, provided they reside outside the 50-mile radius
  • Travelers may be required to float between sister facilities near the contracted location
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply given prior L&D experience
